A Little History from Dr. Taylor

On September 15, 1987, our doors opened for business to the people of Cody, Wyoming. I had just graduated from dental school at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. We started the practice from scratch. We had absolutely no name recognition and no referrals. The office was originally in the Trio Building just west of Eastside School. On the first day I had two patients. They didn’t seem to mind the home-built cabinets or that there were only two chairs and no staff.

The practice grew quickly, and it has been quite the ride. I owe much of the success to wonderful, hard-working, dedicated staff who have helped us over the years. We’ve had some ups and downs, but overall it has been a tremendous experience. The practice provides well for my family and has provided jobs for 18 different people over the years.

We moved into our present building in 1994. It was originally built as a dental office in 1959, the year I was born. It was built by Dr. Meizner. A patient whose husband helped build the office brought me the newspaper clippings for the grand opening of Dr. Meizner’s dental office. Domino’s Pizza was the last occupant before I purchased the building from Mac Taggart. I love the building and the grounds.

The practice has been a great blessing in my life and I think we have been able to do some good dentistry for many people. I have really enjoyed getting to know the people of Cody. There are many wonderful people here and we are a part of their history.

About Dr. Taylor

At Taylor Dental, we put patients first. Since graduating from Creighton University Dental School in 1987, Dr. Taylor has done more than practice dentistry in the Cody area. He’s served in the scouting program for many of the last 28 years. He has participated in the Donated Dental Program of Wyoming since its inception, providing care for the underprivileged of Wyoming. He has also donated time and resources to a dental clinic in Guatemala. He and his staff host a free dental day every year and provide dental services for those who are unable to pay.

Originally from Idaho, the father of three and grandfather of six loves calling Cody, WY, home.  Dr. Taylor has been practicing in Cody for the last 34 years and is well-known throughout Cody, Park County, and beyond! He specializes in cosmetic dentistry, implants, crowns, bridges, restorations, and is a member of the Academy of Facial Esthetics implementing Botox® for orofacial pain, TMJ and bruxism (grinding).

We Give Back to the Community

Our office participates with several charitable organizations such as Donated Dental, two cases per year; Dentistry from the Heart, a community “free dental” day; Veterans Donated Dental, free dental care for veterans; and Square One, Inc., our very own community dental initiative. We’re happy to be able to help those in need of dental services.

Providing great dental care runs in the family!

Dr. Eric Taylor graduated from the University of Utah School of Dentistry in May 2019. Graduates of the University of Utah School of Dentistry, Dr. Taylor included, pride themselves on the amount of real-world experience their school offers. Dr. Taylor has hands-on experience with everything from fillings, crowns and bridges, to dentures, implants, extractions and even periodontal (gum) surgeries. He also had the opportunity to participate in numerous service opportunities including Utah Give Kids a Smile and Junior League Care Fair, among others. Dr. Eric Taylor is thrilled to be able to join Taylor Dental and practice dentistry with his father, Dr. David Taylor.

Born and raised in Cody, Dr. Taylor graduated from Cody High School where he participated in the concert and jazz bands, theater, and journalism programs. He attended undergraduate university at Utah State University in Logan, Utah. While at school he met, then married the love of his life, Lauren. They now have two beautiful kids and are excited to raise them in this wonderful town.
